What is Ciclovia, you ask?
Ciclovia, a Spanish term for “cycleway,” involves temporarily closing streets to cars, creating a safe space for people to walk, skate, dance, play games, socialize, or sit and relax in the middle of the city’s streets. We will also have resources from various partner organizations in our communities. So you don’t want to miss out on what they have to offer.
Part of the tradition that dates back to 1974, thanks to organizer Jaime Ortiz Mariño and cycling enthusiasts. Since then, it has grown into a beloved cultural phenomenon.
During Ciclovia, you can:
Run
Skate
Bike, walk, or just chill!
Enjoy Street performances by Joan Luciano and musicians like Ulipercussion Ulisis Santiago and Tony Ayala. We will also have a sweet sound set up for music you can vibe to..
Last, but definitely not least, free food for all.
But that’s not all! It’s also a chance to connect with your local police officers. They’re excited to meet you and engage in positive interactions that promote unity, peace, and a strong sense of community.
Bring your family and friends, and let’s make this Ciclovia event a memorable one!
