Racial Equity & Social Justice Initiative Speaker Series

All City staff are invited to join the Latinx Community Engagement Team (LCET) for the RESJI Speaker Series hosted by the Central Library, as we recognize Hispanic/ Latinx Heritage Month.

third floor of the Central Library Dr. Armando Ibarra, Ph.D. Professor in the School for Workers Department of Labor Education and Chican@ and Latin@ Studies at the University of Wisconsin Madison will present “Generations of Change: Migration, Settlement, and Social Transformation”

Thursday, October 12, 1-2pm
third floor of the Central Library “Local Trends in Immigration” Aissa Olivarez, Managing Attorney at the Community Immigration Law Clinic, will discuss her work, current immigration law, and how current trends impact our local community.

Participants will also be encouraged to see the Immigrant Journeys exhibit by the WI Humanities Commission that will be on display on the third floor and to learn about the new LOVE WI project.
